The quest for deregulation by the Trump administration is complex and, admittedly, pretty confusing. This is made worse by the fact that many federal agencies are not releasing the identities of appointees to their internal task forces to scale back these regulations.
Danielle Ivory and her team at the New York Times and ProPublica have been working tirelessly on identifying those serving on these task forces, and exposing their conflicts of interest. Out of the 71 appointees found, 28 had potential conflicts.
